Quick updates: Family & School.

It was Mom's birthday on Sunday and I ALMOST forgot. So when it suddenly hit my mind that it was March 14th, I went like...

Anyway, I managed to send her a long text full of wishes just in time, trying to be as sweet as possible. And to make up for having-almost-forgotten her birthday, I'm making it so public on my blog for everyone to see. Like now.

Alright... What else? Oh, Steph and I went for parents' meeting on Friday cuz apparently he's my sister's legal guardian. It so happened to rain every time I went to my sis' school, thanks to which my hair sticked together and looked horrible by the time I reached. Luckily, it had a little time to dry before Steph arrived, and we headed to the classroom. The not-so-young teacher was so caught up with the thick pile of documents in front of her that my 'Hellos' failed to catch her attention (or was my voice too soft, like always?). Anyway, both of us were pretty impressed with my sis' results as well as the teacher's comments about her, in a good way fortunately. There was only one thing we couldn't understand - how did she manage to get A1 for E-Maths, A-Maths and Combined Science, and A2 for Social Studies (History) and Accounting with her C6 English? Perhaps she herself knows best where to improve - or else she'll be in trouble with her 'O' Level. And it was a bit surprising that she'd been getting along well with her classmates and was said to be 'very hardworking, confident and cheerful'. Oh well, I'd be so glad if she were half like that at home and stopped provoking me to anger, unnecessarily. Nevertheless, congratulations, sis, for performing unexpectedly well, and I really hope you'll keep it up independently.

As for my own studies, SED result finally came out after more than one year of waiting. Can't believe both representatives from Bradford and MDIS didn't acknowledge their fault in delaying result issuance, especially when the issue has been constantly brought up via emails as well as face-to-face feedback. We're now supposed to have the topics allocated for dissertation and start working on it already, yet don't even know where to improve from our research protocols. Tuff and nonsense. Anyway, I got B - and because I haven't heard of anyone scoring A for a research proposal (ever since), let's hope that I'm on the right track to a promising dissertation, which means plagiarism-free and beyond-standards.

Surprisingly, Immunity & Infection result was out yesterday after like only one and a half month from exam date. Weird. Anyway, an A for the first paper of Year 3! Good sign? I hope so cuz the other two modules of last term were nowhere close to straightforward - oh well, third-year core modules are supposed to be challenging, right? What done is done. For now - USM is the way to go.

And hi! I'm the kid that can't sit still even when mugging. Random, I know. :)

P.S. My room was visited by a Bear on Monday. Though it rained, I was said to have long eyelashes and would make a good mommy. So it was a happy Monday for a happy week. Cheers

  1. LOL. Reading about your sister make me think you are her little mother (elder sister) who was so busy at work (actually university) and is amazed with her own child (little sister)'s score!

  2. That's exactly what happened. It's not only because I'm busy with my own studies, but I also wanna let her survive on her own. Gladly she did!
