Hay un amigo en mi.

Hola mi amigos! :D
Have you listened to "Hay un amigo en mi" by The Gypsy Kings a.k.a. "You've got a friend in me" Paso Flamenco version from Toy Story 3? This rendition of the song will never fail to lighten up your mood, especially if you've had a good laugh over Buzz Lightyear's Spanish mode. For those who haven't seen the movie, my sincere advice is to catch it on the big screen while it lasts (we watched it last Monday). Toy Story 3 is absolutely worth your time, money, thoughts, laughters and perhaps even tears. Also, kudos to Pixar for the production of a series that has only got better with each installment, which is not the norm nowadays.

Anyway, long time no see. I was too busy, as in really busy, and then too lazy, like extremely lazy, to blog. The beginning of June was probably the most disastrous period during my uni life with deadlines and hardcore exams which ate up all the time and energy left from hectic rehearsals for the MDIS Experience Concert, not mentioning the presence and supervision of dearest Mommy. Speaking of the concert, after being delayed like I-don't-remember-how-many times, it was finally and unfortunately decided to be held on the Friday night right after my first paper. And then there was no time for party but to mug my ass off during the weekend for the memory-challenging Gastrointestinal System paper on Monday. Imagine the feeling when you have to scramble up a huge bowl of dry crap after having exhausted yourself and can't help daydreaming about your upcoming holiday. Nauseous, retching, then emetic a.k.a. sick to your stomach, right? Like, tell me about it.

But hey, ain't complaining because it was my choice to persevere and get all the tasks - given and selected - done with responsibility and the best commitment possible. Looking on the bright side, it could be considered effective self-training of multi-tasking skill and stamina to work under pressure for as long as required. That and the five-month journey with those awesome talented people, each with a unique personality, sharing our laughters and tears made the whole experience even more meaningful and certainly unforgettable. Yep, as I'm typing this, I miss you guys badly.

Thanks goodness I finally had a three-week holiday afterwards which was the second decent holiday during my three and a half years doing this course. So it was compulsory for me to fly home and spend the whole time with gummy parents who love to feed me a lot of rice and try fishing out big fat stories about "that dude I'm seeing". I replied to their questions pretty honestly, which was probably sufficient for them to guess what's going on, but didn't actually admit being in a relationship. Wait, I did tell my grandma everything though (almost, except for the overly sensitive parts of course). By the way, she's officially replaced Mom to be my coolest friend in the family because of the fact that she's more understanding, supportive, open-minded, and also, watches World Cup and discusses like a pro commentator on TV. Man, there are tons of lovable little things about her that can't be listed all in one instance. Just know I love her and her coolness, always. :)

Anyway, holiday would have been more fabulous if the two of us didn't have to suffer short-term long-distance relationship after less than one month since we officially became an item. Before the holiday, we actually wondered how to survive the three freaking weeks (which felt like three months) when we started missing each other the moment we parted (*sniffs*). But we coped pretty well, didn't we? If you wanna know how, it really is no secret. Alright, here comes Alan and Hailey's guide for couples to overcome geographical challenge.

1. Email, email, and email. If your brain juice isn't flowing, think of how you'd usually text the significant other and gather up all those random little ideas into paragraphs. Remember to start and sign off with something sweet that'd touch the heart and make him or her smile.

2. Send relevant sweet stuff that you accidentally (or intentionally) stumble upon, want to share with the significant other and think he or she ought to see. It could be a picture of cute animals or children, a comic drawing, a funny scribble, so on so forth. You got the drift.

3. Surely, nothing can beat instant messaging. The problem with this solution is that the two of you might not be available to chat at the same time. Still, squeeze out as many time slots for "quickies" as possible simply because it's much more spontaneous yet exciting compared to composing long emails. Don't forget to fully utilize the webcam if you have one. If for some weird reason it can't be viewed by the other party, take instant snapshots and send him or her on the spot. It's fun, easy and fast!

4. Don't be stingy and SMS the significant other to share any precious moment when your emotional tide is about to reach Mount Everest. That or in case of emergency - he or she deserves to be informed, obviously.

5. Last but not least, be faithful, trust and keep that someone on your mind. That's what love is after all, right? Honestly, if your love is strong enough, even without reading this guide, you'll find thousands of ways to reach out to the significant other. Ok, maybe not thousands, but more than 10 at least. Either way, it's coming to the end of this guide. Good luck for your next "compulsory break" from each other. ;)

My eyes are closing and stamina for blogging is running out already. Also, I'll have to wake up a bit earlier tomorrow, or technically later today, to prepare for lunch with him. Yeah, kinda feel more gummy and Alan-deficient lately after spending all the weekends and after-work time together solving puzzle, watching soccer, having dinner, watching movies (and telly), cuddling, munching KitKat, having ice-blended drinks with waffles, shooting zombies, blah. So, I'll let the photos (and videos) tell the stories. For full-sized pics, feel free to right click, then "Open link in new tab". For the remaining zillion pictures of my grand gallery, feel free to stalk me on facebook.

P.S. I just realized I started this entry on June 29th and it's July 7th today. Man, I'm so glad I managed to defeat laziness to finish it and finally update my blog. Well, nothing new, whenever I'm busy being pampered and munching on happiness, I don't blog much - it's been the norm here. If you have a problem with that...

Kidding! But no, seriously...
Xoxo.
