Christmas '09: I see you.

So 2009 is coming to an end, giving way to a promising 2010. This year Christmas was perhaps the warmest one for me since I first stepped on this little island. Because I have him. You can be single and perfectly enjoy your December to the max without a thought, which wouldn't happen to me. I stick with the traditional concept where company of those you hold dear, be it your children, spouse or significant other, essentially adds the warmness and merriness that are unique to this festive season. Simply saying, it's like the biggest piece of a puzzle, without which there would be a discernible black hole on the jolly picture of Christmas and New Year in my .

On Christmas day itself, we had the invitation from Kenji & Thi to a cozy dinner with loooots of home-cooked turkey, pork and ham that were soooo delicious yet couldn't be finished on the spot even with fine wine as companion. I was amazed at their effort to create a closest-to-possible atmosphere with Christmas tree, decorations and music (if only there had been snow outside), and then even more surprised when two of the gifts lying under the glittery tree had been prepared for us. There was a little card attached to each, signed 'Kenji & Thi' - how cute! I was freaking eager to open mine and fell for the adorable teddy bear right at first sight (he's sitting on my lap now). And boyfriend got a pink mushroom-shaped tissue holder that totally suits his constantly blocked nose as well as his 'thing' for Maple (if you get my drift). Kudos to Kenji & Thi for the awesome choice of gifts. Teehee!

Dinner was quickly followed by a chit-chatting session on all sorts of topics. I remember it'd been quite a while since the last time we could gather, relaxing and pouring our hearts out like that. Though I can't list down everything we talked in those few hours, I still feel the warmth throughout the conversation that melted all ice (if there was any) and brought us even closer. When minds and hearts are connected, much of communication is saved.

Leaving the winter-wonderland behind, I met Zilla sweetie on Sunday and we girls headed to the beach to have a real taste of tropical December. Underestimating the crowd pouring to Sentosa on a Sunday, especially the last day of a long weekend, I literally gasped at the sight of people there. Anyway, that unexpected fact didn't bring our mood down at all. Instead, it provided even more crap to gossip about, apart from school, love, family and movies, while we were getting fried under the burning sun. The moment our skin started showing signs of protest, it was just nice to leave for the Cathay and collect our movie tickets.

Guess what? That's right! We were going for the bombing Avatar.
And what's more exciting? The boyfriends were to come along!

Nothing could have ended the special weekend better than a double-date with popcorn, pizza, drinks, lots of cuddle and the brilliant movie of the year, yeah? Especially with all fun-loving people we are.

About the movie itself, like zillions of people out there, I wouldn't mind watching it n times in a row and still get lost in the fantasy world of Pandora. Storyline, I'd say, is a modern and inscrutable version of Pocahontas. Music is awe-inspiring - you can't miss the theme song  'I see you' by our talented Leona Lewis. Graphic and sound effects are unbelievably real until it feels like everything was actually filmed. Close to perfection, it won't be a surprise if Avatar makes it way further than its infamous sibling, Titanic. Honestly speaking, James Cameron deserves to be the legend of Hollywood and the world, not only for his gifted brain but also for his golden heart - a true inspiration. By the way, I know many people simply think of avatars as their cyber representatives; but Cameron said "It's not an avatar in the sense of just existing as ones and zeroes in the cyberspace. It's actually a physical body". If you have time, try wiki for more interesting facts behind the movie title, as well as the Na'vi language. It's fun!

Alright, back to Earth. I kinda regret not taking any photo of us couples together to sort of bookmark this lovely Christmas. But does it really matter? Guess not. After spending real good time with each other and seeing happy love birds during a family-oriented holiday, our need to be connected seems to grow deeper in all means. The unforgettable memories will be treasured in my mind, especially after so much we've been through for 8 months to end a year merrily like this.

Yes, happy 8th monthiversary, .

P.S. I love the X'mas gift from my Santa Claus who already is the priceless gift in my life. I-see-you .

Music: 'I see you' by Mika (NOT Leona Lewis)
