After 10 days full of unforgettable memories, my parents and sis finally flied back on Sunday afternoon. Just like every time, it was totally impossible for us to hold out tears inside. Dad was the first one who hugged me tightly and encouraged Daddy's Little Girl to stay strong. I wanted to reply him a clear 'Yes', but it seemed like something was blocking my throat.
I started crying. So did Mom. "I will be missing you... very... very much...", she told me as the tears were flowing down on her cheeks. Mom is always reasoning as she is, seldom shows her love or appreciation towards her elder daughter. Yet she was letting the most sincere feelings out of her deepest heart, for me. "I will be missing you badly, too, Mom..."
Turning to my sis, the only thing I could do was to hug her tightly. "Promise me you'll study well okay?" "Next time I have holiday, I will go home hugging you like this again..." "Ah, my little sis has been growing so fast, bigger than me already... Big girls don't cry... Don't cry..." That was all I could tell her when slightly patting against her back. Words suck, I know, but our feelings could definitely be felt and understood by each other. Simply because we're sisters.
...
Waving goodbye as their images were fading away, I stood there, all alone, surrounded by a world of unknown strangers. Burst into tears. I felt like I could fall down on my knees right away. But I knew I absolutely couldn't. I must stand firm on my own feet. Ah, life's like that. We must learn to accept the cruel fact that other than family, there's hardly anyone willing to go through thick and thin with us. Even though they might be troublesome at times, but still, they're our dearest.
Father And Mother, I Love You.

Today the first lecture of the term, Foundation of Marketing, was done quite smoothly. The lecturer, Mr. Dennis Kwok was quite cool as well. And I can't deny that I'm excited about the rest of this semester.
During this last term of the first year, there's gonna be four subjects, two Business, two Biosciences. Ah, both Business papers will come after one month plus, so focus and try hard, Hailey! Oh and Dr. Anjali's gonna teaching again. Cool! Everyone has to admit and agree that she's one of the best lecturers in MDIS, despite the fact that she's either too stressful or too innocent at times, lol.

I bought some books from the bookstore at Changi airport. Don't know whether it's more expensive than at city center or not, but never mind, I feel totally satisfied with spending on proper books. Here's the list of the books and their uses:
1. The Great Singapore Quiz, 2008, Monsoon publisher _ More than 2,000 questions about Singapore [It's good to know well about the country you're living in, isn't it?]
2. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey, 2004, Franklin Covey publisher _ Powerful lessons in personal change [Ah, I just feel like I'm not making the most of myself.]
3. The Quick & Easy Way to Effective Speaking by Dale Carnegie, Pocket Books publisher _ modern techniques for dynamic communication [It's the basic key to open the door of opportunities in this 21st century, right?]
4. Collins Mandarin, 2008, HarperCollins publishers _ phrase book and dictionary [I would insist that it's really good to know Mandarin, even just a bit of it.]
5. Cantonese Phrasebook, 4th Edition, 2005, Lonely Planet publisher _ with 2000-word-two-way dictionary [This one is only for-my-knowledge and interest.]
I'm currently reading the 3rd one. It was written half a century ago, but I find certain principles never change with time. And these principles are nothing but the content of this handy book. Cool right? If you have time, I suggest you go for it.
I will give feedback on the other books when I actually read them.

Going shopping at Time Square, KL, Malaysia is incredibly pleasant, man. The prices are the same as in S'pore, but in RINGGIT (like not even half of S$, oh gosh!). The number of shopping bags on my hands kept increasing with almost every shop we passed by, from small to big, from very cheap to a bit expensive items. Due to limited time (only two nights), there are still many places I wanna visit, many things I wanna try, many food I wanna eat there. Keep the plan until next time then. Who volunteers to be my tour guide?
However, as for me, KL is a wonderful place for entertainment and relaxing only, not for long-term living. Compared to S'pore, it can be similar to some extent. But everything there seems to be covered with a dull layer of slowness (including people, transport, activities, etc.), a little bit uncleanliness, untidiness, unnecessary complexity, and insecurity. Nevertheless, Vietnam still has a long way ahead to reach that level of development, perhaps some dozens of years? The impacts of two long-lasting wars against two powerful invaders are just too obvious to be seen.
