Balloon.

'Mom, I want a balloon!' The little girl cried as she pulled her mother's shirt. Through the tears, she stared enviously at another kid playing with a colorful balloon. Well, it was not that the mother didn't want her child to enjoy a simple happiness of having a balloon in hands _ but even a balloon was a luxurious item to the family at that point of time. Little did the girl know, there were tears inside her mother's heart.

As time passed by, the little girl grew up, knowing more and understanding more. The family also gained a better living standard, and her parents could afford much more than balloons. Even though they could see the excitement reflected in their daughter's eyes every time she saw a balloon, they didn't give her what she wanted all the time. Fortunately, the girl was grown up enough not to get frustrated over this. Instead, she understood that parents only want her to treasure the value of labor, endeavor and achievement. A balloon then meant even more to her.

Whenever you see a balloon, it is a sign of parties and celebrations. Whenever I see a balloon, it reminds me of true happiness in life and makes me smile excitedly. From deep inside, I know who I am, what I wanna be, and feel extremely grateful to my parents, who have taught me to think right. Despite the fact that they can't physically be next to me 24/7, it is the mindset provided that works as a backbone for all my decisions in life. Yeah, just like a balloon tied to a fixed point but still allowed to fly in the wind _ I like it that way.
Live on, girl.
