Receiving the sms from daddy saying that parents and sis are gonna come over during June holiday, she nearly did drop her phone (Don't worry, it was the lousy Nokia one, not the new SE one). Having suffered from the exam shadow silently, the worry inside her suddenly shot up. And during the rest of the lecture, she didn't even know what the hell she was answering for the tutorial questions. Plus the threatening jokes from her classmates, well, it was a literally a challenge for every single of her brain cells.
But why did she suddenly have that super nervous feeling? She can't explain. Weird.
Reaching home, Aunty was waiting to hand her a mail from MDIS, which looked like an exam result. She politely thanked Aunty as usual and rushed into her room as fast as possible, for many reasons. She bet with herself it had to be Accounting and the number would be greater than 85%. The three borders were carefully torn off, one by one (As a habit, she didn't want to spoil the mail despite her great excitement to see the score). And yeah, she won, as well as lost to herself.
Breathing out, she smiled at the number 90. It was her effort, yeah.
As usual, she would sms her classmates to ask about their scores right away. But she totally had no mood to do it then. She couldn't wait any longer to switch on her laptop. Instead of slowly putting her bag on the sofa, taking of the accessories, and changing clothes like everyday, she just threw the bag there and straight away sat down on the pink little mat, staring blankly at the startup screen.
She was dying to share, to know, to confirm something, and to see 'someone'.
Logging in Yahoo, parents were not online. A bit disappointed, but it was fine. She knew they would be here soon. Patiently logging in msn, well, what she saw was not what she'd been expecting. Suddenly she wanted to laugh at herself for being a fool lost in her own stupid imaginations. With the unpleasant mixture of worried, upset, and hurt feelings, she slowly stood up and did her stuff, and definitely didn't forget to notice any alert sounds from both messengers.
After talking to parent, she felt so damn relieved. Family's coming. Exam's coming. But she knew she could make it on her own. Arguing with parents on a lot of problems, but she can't deny at times they make her feel so much more confident and independent. Seldom letting her loving words out, but she believes through her actions, mom and dad know how much she loves them. A lot.
She won't disappoint them this time. For sure.
I'm sorry
I did not mean to hurt my little girl
It's beyond me
I cannot carry the weight of the heavy world
So goodnight, goodnight, goodnight,
Goodnight, goodnight, goodnight,
Goodnight, goodnight,
Goodnight
Hope that things work out alright, yeah...

Guys, it's a sweet Maroon5 's song.
But don't tell your girlfriends this just to escape from the issue.
Try your very best first, yeah?
